Check In and Departure Times

Check in is usually between 16:30 & 19:30 and we ask that guests vacate their rooms by 10:30 on the day of departure.  If you will be arriving after 19:30 please let us know as we may have commitments in the evenings and may need to make separate arrangements to welcome you.

Booking and Payment

By booking a room(s) at Pengelly Farmhouse B&B, you are agreeing that you and all members of your party agree to and are bound by the Terms & Conditions detailed below.  Your reservation is made with Pengelly Farmhouse B&B  (“Pengelly Farmhouse”) and represents a legally binding contract between you and Pengelly Farmhouse B&B.

We will require a valid credit / debit card when booking to confirm your reservation.  Unlike many other B&Bs we do not take deposits of any kind or charge up front, payment is upon arrival.  We reserve the right to charge your card as detailed below in the event of a no-show or should the booking be cancelled as per our Cancellation Policy.  By entering into this contract you are authorising us to make any charges as per our conditions below and without any additional consent being required.  We strongly advise that you have travel insurance to cover you if you need to cancel.

We are happy to accept most credit or debit cards for the payment of the deposit and balance.  Where possible we prefer payment by debit card.  We do not take Diners or American Express Cards.

Cancellation Policy

As we are a small family run B&B, a minimum of 7 days’ notice is required for cancellation.  If cancelled later, the first night only will be charged.  However , if cancelled on the day of arrival or for a no-show, the total amount of the reservation will be charged.  No allowances can be made to cover accommodation vacated before the end of the reservation or for meals not taken.  We do advise taking out holiday insurance.

Circumstances Beyond Our Control (Force Majeure)

We cannot accept responsibility for unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.  These include (but are not limited to) adverse weather conditions, fire, riot, war, terrorist activity (or threat of such activity), industrial dispute, natural disaster, or injuries and death of an individual(s) through accidental circumstances unconnected with Pengelly Farmhouse B&B.  Fortunately these things are all quite rare down here in Cornwall.


We reserve the right to charge for any damage or loss caused by yourself or a member of your party for the replacement, cleaning or repair of any item(s) belonging to Pengelly Farmhouse B&B, or the fabric of the house itself including public areas, damaged either wilfully or because reasonable precautions have not been taken.  In the event that cosmetic products or sun screens cannot be removed after treatment an appropriate charge may be made.  In these events, payment for any such damage or loss can be charged to your credit/debit card without prior consent being required for the costs incurred.   By making a booking you are accepting responsibility for any damage or loss caused by yourself or a member of your party, including any pets.  Full payment for any such damage or loss must be paid to the provider upon demand.  If you fail to do so, you will be responsible for meeting any claims subsequently made (together with our own and the other party’s full legal costs) as a result of your actions.


We do advise holiday insurance in case of the unexpected because it happens more often than you might realise.  It is your responsibility to ensure that any insurance cover you have provides adequate cover for your needs and for the duration of your stay.

Medical Conditions

If you or any member of your party has a medical condition, allergy or disability which may affect your stay, please call us to advise us so that we can make provision for the particular need(s) of the person(s) concerned, or advise you if we are unable to make such provision.  If details are not provided to us at the time of booking, Pengelly Farmhouse B&B reserves the right to cancel the booking should we be unable to make appropriate provision for a specific need or needs.


Guests who display symptoms of Coronavirus or live in a household where someone else has symptoms must not check in.  If a guest develops COVID-19 symptoms while staying with us they should immediately inform us and we will advise on the next steps to be taken in line with the latest government guidance and to ensure there is no onward risk of infection to other guests or hosts.  If a guest is required to self-isolate with us beyond their booked stay they will be liable for any additional costs and expenses caused by the extended stay.  This includes any additional costs of the impact on any follow-on guests if the room is not available to them.

Lost Keys

On arrival, you will be given a room key and front door key.  It is your responsibility to ensure safety of your keys and key ring at all times and to return them at the end of your stay on check out.  Loss of keys will be subject to a minimum lost key charge of £100.

Lost Property

Any lost property items will be disposed of at the end of the subsequent month after the visit took place.  Should you wish an item to be returned to you, a minimum charge of £10 will be charged to your credit/debit card to cover postage, packing and administration.  This may rise when postal charges are higher.


There is free car parking available, however, we cannot accept any liability for any damage or theft to vehicles while parked within our grounds.

Non-Smoking Policy

Pengelly Farmhouse B&B is by law strictly NON-SMOKING and we do not allow smoking.  Electronic Cigarettes or Vapourisers (Vapes)  For our guests’ comfort we do not allow the use of electronic cigarettes or vapourisers (vapes).  A minimum penalty of £100 may be charged for smoking in any part of Pengelly Farmhouse B&B.
